Bike & MTB

Adventures in the Dolomites with a racing or mountain bike

Besides energising hiking tours and wonderful nordic-walking trails, in South Tyrol, mountaineers can also explore the breathtaking mountain world by bike. Various forest roads and alpine trails invite you for both relatively easy as well as more challenging full-day tours in varying countryside landscapes. The adventure in South Tyrol is already waiting for you – do not miss out on your chance to experience this wonderful alpine world full of emotion. Our beautiful village St. Vigil in Enneberg  and its surroundings are known for racing and mountain bike events like Giro d’Italia (stage mountain time trial: St. Vigil in Enneberg- Kronplatz), the Transalp Challenge (mountain bike), the Tour Transalp (racing bike), the Sellaronda Bike Day, the Marathon of the Dolomites, the Dolomiti Superbike, the Kronplatz MTB Race, and others… At the same time it is the best place for less experienced bikers to improve their skills and explore new territory. A relatively short excursion takes you to the end of the valley through our nature park “Fanes Senes Prags”. Furthermore, the Pustertal offers a cycle track that extends from Brixen all the way to Lienz (Autria) and it is suited for families, with downhill track stretches.

Skiing on the Kronplatz

Plan de Corones is one of South Tyrol’s best-known ski areas, offering 125 km of slopes and 32 modern lifts. It is a versatile ski destination, with something for beginners, families, experienced skiers and snowboarders alike.

From wide, enjoyable slopes for those taking their first steps on snow to the more challenging black runs, Kronplatz offers an impressive variety of terrain. On the side descending towards Brunico (Bruneck), the Sylvester, Herrnegg and Trasse runs offer long descents, dynamic skiing and beautiful views of South Tyrol’s winter landscape. Pré da Peres provides a sporty descent, while on the southern side, Erta—a black run and World Cup course—and Sorega offer some of the most exciting challenges for experienced skiers. Piculin, meanwhile, descends towards Val Badia, providing a connection to the famous Sellaronda circuit and the extensive Dolomiti Superski ski area.

Kronplatz is much more than a ski destination. It is fresh mountain air, light, movement and that unique feeling of freedom that comes when everything around you is wrapped in winter.
